Fallen Masters

One surprising thing that crops up in the Akashic Records is that many of us were perceived at one time or other (either by ourselves and/or others) as spiritual masters. These lifetimes are often sandwiched between the lifetimes we were great military dictators or their close associates. It is very likely we have all been a Nostradamus, a St Peter, a St Paul or even an ancient God or Goddess of one of the various pantheons. We must be careful how we interpret this strange information. If we assume we are enlightened and have come to save the planet, then that might have unfortunate consequences for ourselves and others and be part of an undesirable recurring pattern. The truth about all this is rather more subtle and instructive and relates to how we tend to want to perceive ourselves and how we wish others to perceive us. It takes a very level head to navigate through this kind of past life information. There really are Ascended Masters and Gods living among us, but are they actually just popstars and celebrities of the ancient world?

Walkins, Ascension and Simultaneous incarnation are myths.
Perhaps our perceptions of Reincarnation, 2012, Enlightenment, TimeTravel, UFOs & extraterrestrials, Spiritual mastery, Spirituality and the assumption that we are separate from each other are just myths of our own making. When we jettison them we begin to have some practical purpose.

Walkins, Ascension and Simultaneous incarnation are myths. Dragons, griffins, Pegasus, unicorns and a host of other wonderful beings did/do exist (at least, at certain levels of our consensus reality). My main concern is our perception of these things and ourselves do not usually serve any practical purpose, but simply chain us to a host of delightful illusions that block our understanding of higher truths and responsibilities.

People who pull up their shirt sleeves and get down to dragging out congested negative energies from people and places do impress me. In my opinion, they personally raise the vibrations of the planet in a very practical way. If you talk about metaphysics with these people, they will often provide new and interesting insights into things that are beyond the understanding of the armchair philosophers who often spread strange and impractical ideas around.
I cannot condemn impractical ideas, I cannot condemn illusions of spiritual mastery and I cannot condemn war, because I, like many of us, have been involved in these sorts of things many times down the timeline of human history.

Other Strange Claims - Edgar Cayce

David Wilcock believes that he is a reincarnation of Edgar Cayce. But he's not insisting on this (see pictures at left — you decide). Like Cayce, David does ''readings,'' but rather than health, the subject matter gives a ''higher self'' overview of information that the individual needs to help in evolution of consciousness.

David has focused on the mission of bringing cutting-edge scientific research to bear upon the subject of indigenous prophecy, UFOs, and the coming ''shift'' that Gregg Braden and others also talk of. Like many others who are concerned with planetary ascension, he sees a Golden Age coming soon for humanity.

Edgar Cayce (March 18, 1877 – January 3, 1945) (pronounced /'keɪsiː/ or "Casey") was an American psychic who claimed to channel answers to questions on subjects such as health, astrology, reincarnation, and Atlantis while in trance. Although Cayce lived before the emergence of the New Age movement, he remains a major influence on its teachings.

Cayce became an American celebrity towards the end of his life and the publicity given to his prophecy has overshadowed what to him were the more important parts of his work such as healing (the vast majority of his "readings" were given for people who were sick) and theology (Cayce being a lifelong, devout member of the Disciples of Christ). Skeptics challenge Cayce's claim to psychic prowess, while conservative Christians also question his unorthodox answers on religious matters (such as reincarnation and akashic records). He may have been the source for the idea that California would fall into the ocean (though he never said exactly this).

Cayce's methods involved lying down and entering into what appeared to be a trance or sleep state, usually at the request of a subject who was seeking help with health or other personal problems (subjects were not usually present). The subject's questions would then be given to Cayce, and Cayce would proceed with a "reading". At first these readings dealt primarily with the physical health of the individual ("physical readings"); later readings on past lives, business advice, dream interpretation, and mental or spiritual health were also given.

Cayce said that his trance statements should be taken into account only to the extent that they led to a better life for the recipient: "Does it make one a better husband, a better businessman, a better neighbor, a better artist, a better churchman? If so, cleave to it; if not, reject it."Moreover, he invited his audience to test his suggestions rather than accept them on faith.

Throughout his life Cayce was drawn to church as a member of the Disciples of Christ. He read the Bible once for every year of his life, taught at Sunday school, recruited missionaries, and is said to have agonized over the issue of whether his psychic abilities--and the teachings which resulted--were spiritually legitimate.

In 1900 he formed a business partnership with his father to sell Woodmen of the World Insurance but was struck by severe laryngitis in March that resulted in a complete loss of speech on April 18. Unable to work, he lived at home with his parents for almost a year. He then decided to take up the trade of photography, an occupation that would exert less strain on his voice. He began an apprenticeship at the photography studio of W. R. Bowles in Hopkinsville.

A travelling stage hypnotist and entertainer called "Hart - The Laugh Man" was performing at the Hopkinsville Opera House in 1901. He heard about Cayce's condition and offered to attempt a cure. Cayce accepted and the experiment took place on stage in front of an audience. Remarkably, Cayce's voice returned while in a hypnotic trance but disappeared on awakening. Hart tried a post-hypnotic suggestion that the voice would continue to function after the trance but this proved unsuccessful.

Since Hart had appointments at other cities, he could not continue his hypnotic treatment of Cayce. However a local hypnotist, Al Layne, offered to help Cayce in restoring his voice. Layne suggested that Cayce describe the nature of his condition and cure while in a hypnotic trance. Cayce described his own ailment from a first person plural point of view — 'we' — instead of the singular "I." In subsequent readings he would generally start off with "We have the body." According to the reading, his voice loss was due to psychological paralysis and could be corrected by increasing the blood flow to the voice box. Layne suggested that the blood flow be increased and Cayce's face became flushed with blood and his chest area turned bright red. After 20 minutes Cayce, still in trance, declared the treatment over. On awakening his voice remained normal. Relapses occurred but were corrected by Layne in the same way and eventually the cure was permanent.

Layne had read of similar hypnotic cures effected by the Marquis de Puységur, a follower of Franz Mesmer, and was keen to explore the limits of the healing knowledge of the trance voice. He asked Cayce to describe Layne's own ailments and suggest cures, and reportedly found the results both accurate and effective. Layne suggested that Cayce offer his trance healing to the public but Cayce was reluctant. He finally agreed on the condition that readings would be free. He began with Layne's help to offer free treatments to the townspeople. Reportedly he had great success and his fame spread. Reports of Cayce's work appeared in the newspapers, inspiring many postal inquiries. Supposedly, Cayce was able to work just as effectively using a letter from the individual as with having the person present. Given the person's name and location, he could diagnose the physical, mental conditions and provide corrective remedy. Cayce's accuracy in diagnosing the problems and providing effective cures made him more popular and soon people from around the world sought his advice through correspondence.

Cayce's work grew in volume as his fame grew. he trance reading produced a visible strain on Cayce's health. He attributed the occasional failure in his accuracy to the stress involved in his work. He was scrupulous in giving refunds to unsatisfied clients.

Students of Cayce point out that his particular form of trance work differed significantly as to quality, tone, and voice from almost everyone else in the field, living or dead. In particular, the Cayce-style trance is hallmarked by a total absence of Ego. The voice is always, and most clearly, first-person plural; and the response to questions invariably shows a decided lack of personal interest in both the questioner and the topic. Unlike, for example, Jane Roberts, whose "Seth" books are the best example of "personality" trances. The pure Cayce-style trance is exceptionally rare. Only a handful of individuals since Cayce have ever been successful in duplicating this particular phenomenon. One group in particular, calling itself Cosmic Awareness, and based in the US north-west, claims to be longest-standing source of serial trance material of this particular type.

Cayce's followers accept that he was sometimes inaccurate, and occasionally totally wrong. Cayce's sons, Hugh Lynn Cayce and Edgar Evans Cayce, even co-authored a book called The Outer Limits of Edgar Cayce's Power detailing some of their father's mistakes. They theorize that Cayce's accuracy depended on many variables, such as the spiritual motivation of those seeking the reading. Skeptics identify these theories as excuses intended to prevent paranormal claims from ever being disproven.

Hopper's Bookstore in Hopkinsville where Cayce worked for many years as a young man specialized in occult and osteopathic works and he may have consciously or otherwise absorbed much of this material. However, knowledge of this material cannot account for most of Cayce's specific diagnoses, such as directing that osteopathic adjustments be given to a developmentally-delayed and seizure-ridden child named Aime Dietrich. She was restored to normal health by Cayce-directed treatments after conventional doctors had pronounced her case hopeless.

Books such as Frederick Oliver's Atlantean fantasy A Dweller On Two Planets and Marie Corelli's novels were probably accessible to Cayce at his bookstore. Corelli's writings in particular seek to reconcile mystical beliefs such as reincarnation with Christianity, and Cayce may have been subconsciously trying to accept this idea. Some books of this type refer to Jesus as "elder brother". However, Cayce's life readings show remarkable consistency over many years. In fact, it has not been demonstrated that Cayce ever was inconsistent in his chronology. (For example, telling a woman whose reading was done in the 1920s that in a lifetime in ancient Persia she was one of three sisters of a warrior; then telling a man whose reading was done in the 1940s that he was that warrior and had two sisters.)

Regardless of the accuracy of the information Cayce provided, those who accept that Cayce was unconscious during his "trance" state generally agree that Cayce was not likely to have been an intentional fraud.

The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce and His Soul Group?

Edgar Cayce / David Wilcock

Edgar Cayce is widely known as the most documented psychic of the 20th Century.

In this comparison it is quite easy to see the facial similarities between Cayce and Wilcock.

They also have remarkable astrological similarites, with the inner planets on both charts appearing in almost exactly the same positions -- at billions-to-one odds against chance. David's birth planets are the closest match to Cayce's in a 157-year period after Cayce's death -- which helps him continue to work out the same karma.

Of course, they both also have a very well-documented record of accurate, insightful psychic readings.

Edgar's alleged past-life identity as Egyptian priest Ra-Ta was said to have co-designed the Great Pyramid and Hall of Records with Thoth.

The Cayce Readings said "[Ra-Ta] the priest would return in 1998" and be in Virginia Beach, "surrounded by many of those" he knew before.

David's readings began in November 1996, and they asked him to move to Virginia Beach in October 1997. Many key people began noticing his shocking resemblance to Cayce, since the A.R.E. is still headquartered there. David's readings confirmed that there was a past-life connection in November 1997 -- and he visited the A.R.E., the Cayce organization, in 1998 to announce the connection. He was met with extreme interest at all other levels, but harsh criticism from the very top.

Since at least 1993, when he read Hoagland's "Monuments of Mars," David was "remembering" his Atlantean knowledge from the Ra-Ta period, including how the technology of the pyramids actually function and what they are used for -- knowledge otherwise lost in the yet-undiscovered Hall of Records, which Ra-Ta designed and cataloged himself. David's first book exploring this science, CONVERGENCE, was published in 1998.

Morton Blumenthal

Morton Blumenthal was heavily involved in Cayce's work, using his readings to win in the stock market.

Blumenthal had a bitter falling-out with Cayce after he had funded the Cayce Hospital, but did not listen to the readings' suggestion to sell all his stock thereafter.

The Great Crash of 1929 quickly wiped out Blumenthal's asset base and destroyed the Cayce Hospital very quickly. Blumenthal also sold Cayce's own home out from under him thereafter, betraying his trust and leaving him destitute.

Chris, pictured here, was David's longest-lasting friend in college, and one of a very small number of people David has stayed in contact with from university. Chris implicitly trusted David's editing help to "sex up" his term papers, requesting it for each and every assignment, and always paying him for his work. Morton was Cayce's single best customer, having paid for hundreds and hundreds of readings.

The one time David asked his readings about Chris, not knowing about his own Cayce connection, they strangely said "Plug in the early New York Stock Exchange."

Chris finally came to live with David in Virginia Beach in 1998, right next door to the Cayce Hospital. Their first substantial fight, as friends, was on the very same day that David was about to revisit the Cayce Hospital for the first time in this life, and announce his possible reincarnation, as the readings had asked him to.

Morton obviously was plucking his eyebrows, partly obscuring the resemblance with Chris -- but both men have a sagging upper-left eyelid and many other facial similarities. Clearly he and David had to come back and resolve their karma in this lifetime, finding peace and acceptance with each other.

Edwin Blumenthal

Edwin Blumenthal also had many Cayce readings and was a close friend of Cayce's prior to the big falling-out.

The Cayce Readings said that Edwin had been Jesus' brother Jude in a past life, which makes this connection all the more curious.

They also said that Edwin could be a conscious channeler and do even better readings than Cayce.

David's friend Jude, pictured here, was his longest-standing friend in high school, and the only friend from that time who David is still in contact with.

Jude now has a professional photography career specializing in portraits -- just like Cayce did.

He and David made powerful music together while teenagers, and had many profound intuitive experiences together. One time David was sleeping on Jude's floor and had a vision of a frightening man chasing him. David had a gun and could shoot the man, but chose not to. Jude, while asleep, said, "Shoot him... just shoot him... two bullets."

Jude was meditating directly next to David when David's first psychic reading came through, in the form of automatic writing. Jude also tried to get a message at the same time but did not meet with success. David's message had a host of startling features as we describe in "Wanderer Awakening".

Their friendship has stood the test of multi-incarnational time. Edwin appears to have had such respect for Cayce that he reincarnated as his best friend, and actually ended up taking on the same lifelong creative and professional interests as Cayce had done -- photography and creative mysticism.

Has Edgar Cayce reincarnated/returned?

Has Edgar Cayce reincarnated/returned? Did Edgar Cayce predict his return (in 1998)?
A This question has come up very frequently–with individuals claiming to either be Edgar Cayce himself or stating that they are in communication with Edgar Cayce. At the present time, A.R.E. does not believe that Edgar Cayce has returned.

Part of the reason that individuals may be asking the question in the first place is because of a reading that suggested Edgar Cayce could return in 1998. Let us look at a couple of possibilities regarding what this might mean:

1) Cayce would literally return in the flesh in 1998. If literal, does this mean that he was born around 1998, or does this mean that he would make his presence known in 1998? The important thing to remember is that even if Edgar Cayce did return, he is not necessarily going to pick up his life as “Edgar Cayce.” He would have a new life with new opportunities and new lessons. We can find an example of this in the Bible dealing with the reincarnation of Elijah as John the Baptist. Jesus stated that John was, in fact, the reincarnation of Elijah. Edgar Cayce also confirmed the same thing in his readings. However, when John was asked straightforward, “Are you Elijah?” He replied, “No, I am John.” In other words, the personality does not reincarnate, only the soul entity (or the true individuality) returns.

2) Many people believe that Edgar Cayce’s material would begin to return to the spotlight around 1998–making more and more individuals aware of the wealth of helpful insights he left behind. Interestingly enough, in December 1997 the A&E’s Biography did a program on Edgar Cayce’s life. At around the same time, a 26-week series on Edgar Cayce’s life and work called The New Millennium starting airing on the Wisdom Cable Channel. In addition, since that time a new biography: Edgar Cayce: An American Prophet has been released in both hardback and paperback. A.R.E. has also launched a major website, attracting tens of thousands of “hits” per month. All of these things have certainly helped to heighten an awareness of the Cayce information.

Another important consideration is that oftentimes, in the process of a “soul awakening,” individuals have memories and feelings from the past that somehow come to the surface in the present. Part of our challenge in this process is sorting through all of the images, memories, and feelings, attempting to separate reality from metaphor.

In other words, sometimes individuals have such strong feelings and images about a particular person and/or place that they begin to associate personally with those memories. Generally, memories of this nature are not literal. Most often, these feelings and images should be associated with what the person/place really means to us in the present. In other words, what is it about the individual or the time period in history that touches us very deeply at a soul level?

Sometimes, individuals were actually associated with a famous person in a past life and came to revere that person. The result is that in this incarnation the individual has a strong sense of familiarity with that “famous” soul. In fact, frequently this familiarity becomes so strong that the individual in the present begins to think they were actually that person from the past.

With this in mind, it is very likely that individuals who think that they are the return of Edgar Cayce actually had a close association with him (and his work) in one of his past incarnations. According to his own readings, his soul had been very active in doing a similar work in at least three additional time periods: Atlantis, Ancient Egypt, and Palestine.

All of this said, frequently individuals have still been so convinced that they are either the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce or in communication with him, that we have often asked them to respond to several questions that only Edgar Cayce would know the answer to. At this point in time, no one has ever answered any of the questions correctly.

Assassination

Forget about Edgar Cayce. The Akashic records are very specific about this. David Wilcock and his friend Jude are connected to an assassination in Russia in 1916. Jude was involved in David's death in this recent incarnation.

The facial similarities between David Wilcock and Edgar Cayce in the previous photos are only superficial. The ears are the wrong shape. Wilcock has a longer face and chin. The nose and lower lip are different. The eyebrows are different. The eyes and pose are very similar, though.

Vladimir Purishkevich

The Akashic Records say that Jude was Vladimir Purishkevich.

Vladimir Mitrofanovich Purishkevich (August 12, 1870, Kishinev – February, 1920, Novorossiysk, Russia), was a Russian politician before the Bolshevik revolution. Born in a family of poor nobleman in Bessarabia Purishkevich graduated from Odessa university with a degree in philosophy. Purishkevich was a far-rightist who in 1905 was one of the founders of the Union of the Russian People, later after a split within the organization in 1908 he founded his own organization known as Union of Archangel Michael.

During the Russian Revolution of 1905 he organized Black Hundreds militia (officially to aid the police in the fight against left-wing extremists and the restoration of order). Purishkevich was elected as a deputee into II, III and IV Russian State Duma, where he became popular leader of the radical monarchist right and gained fame because of his emotional speeches, flamboyant and scandalous behaviour, and his monarchist and anti-Semitic views. During World War I Purishkevich quit politics and was in charge of a medical aid train on the frontlines.

In 1916 together with Prince Yusupov and Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich, the Tsar's young cousin, Purishkevich participated in the assassination of Grigori Rasputin, an unsuccessful attempt to save the institution of monarchy. After the February Revolution in 1917, he called for the abolishment of the Soviets. In October, he organized the "Committee for the Motherland's Salvation" in St. Petersburg, and was joined by a number of officers, military cadets and others.

In November, Purishkevich was arrested by Bolshevik Cheka and charged with a "counter-revolutionary conspiracy". During his trial, Cheka found correspondence between Purishkevich and General Kaledin - one of the leaders of the White anti-Bolshevik movement. After a year in Bolshevik jail Purishkevich was released supposedly because of his poor health. He immediately joined General Denikin's army in southern Russia where he published the monarchist journal "Blagovest". In 1920 Vladimir Purishkevich reputedly died from typhus in Novorossiysk.

Rasputin

The implication is that David Wilcock is actually the reincarnation of Rasputin.

I don't insist on this, nor do I insist that my interpretation of the Akashic Records is always entirely correct. Even Edgar Cayce made mistakes. I'm just trying to seek and explore the truth.

I strongly believe health is the key to balance and truth. If we constantly side step the issue, then we might get lost. Health is what evolution is all about.

The Mad Monk

Skeptical reactions of disbelief are understandable. "Oh, they all look a LITTLE alike, but come on!" Reincarnation can be a difficult concept to grasp, particularly when it occurs in "soul groups" like this. The fact of the matter is that some of David's core family members, (not pictured at this time) and some of David's closest and longest friends are very similar to equally central figures in Cayce's lifetime. Cayce's own readings also predicted that this would happen, as we indicated in "The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?". The faces are not 100-percent identical, but these discrepancies are apparently caused by the combination of the true face of the Higher Self, and its energetic organizing effect upon the DNA molecule, with the hereditary facial characteristics inherited from either of the parents. Jude has a narrower mouth than Edwin. David's nose and earlobes are differently shaped than Edgar's.

It is also true that Cayce and David looked far LESS alike in their younger years. David was quite overweight between ages 10 and 16, and photos of Cayce from that same time period look scrawny and very different than David does now. It seems that the full energetic effects of the Higher Self upon facial structure are not completely visible until full sexual maturity is reached in the late teens / early 20s.

David's latest scientific research on the energetic effects with the DNA molecule, as he describes in his co-authored book The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?, gives a scientific basis for the idea of a "soul" that is apart from the physical body, continues to reincarnate and progressively learn lessons, and has a direct energetic effect upon the structure of the DNA molecule. Russian scientist Dr. Peter Gariaev discovered that DNA absorbs light photons in its surrounding area, and causes the photons to spiral through the molecule itself. This spiraling effect will continue in the same spot for up to 30 days after the DNA is physically removed from that spot -- and this effect is called the "DNA Phantom." Gariaev also shined a gentle laser beam through a developing salamander embryo and redirected it into a developing frog embryo. This caused the frog embryo's DNA to completely re-code itself with the instructions to build a healthy adult salamander ( ! ), even though the two embryos were in hermetically sealed containers and only the light was allowed to pass through.

In the same way, it appears that your "True" form begins affecting how your physical body will look from the moment of conception, as your soul energies begin weaving their way in to the DNA, just like how the salamander's "energy" codes could be transmitted, via laser light, to a frog embryo and cause mutation. As you get older, more and more of this energetic DNA-blending takes place, and your face more closely resembles that of your Higher Self. In the case of Garaiev's research, the salamanders were able to breed with other salamanders, live healthy lives and show no signs of ever having originated from frogs. This also seems to be the primary mechanism responsible for why evolution occurs in sudden, evenly-spaced spurts in our fossil record -- neat cycles of 65 million years and 26 million years have both been discovered and proven to exist.

David's research suggests that these cycles are the result of our Solar System passing through evenly-spaced energetic zones in the Galaxy, which at times will spontaneously induce evolution on any planet supporting life, within only one or two generations. It appears that we are again experiencing such an effect now, having remarkable effects upon the Earth's climate as well as that of the Sun and all other planets, and causing many social changes to occur on Earth -- the creation of a "Dark Night of the Soul" for humanity where our group negativity is being mirrored back to us on a global, governmental level so that it can be identified, cleansed and healed -- both collectively and individually as well.

We believe that we are living in the most remarkably POSITIVE time on Earth we have ever seen. The darkest hour truly is before the dawn. Many great teachers have unwittingly reincarnated at this time, and as they evolve, they will remember more and more of their True Purpose and take the necessary steps to fulfill it. You may very well be one of them, if you find that all of this is making sense to you -- as if you already knew it and are only remembering something you already knew from long ago.

Grigory Rasputin was born in Siberia in the late eighteen hundreds, the son of Russian peasants. He preferred filth to cleanliness and called lice "Pearls of God." He preferred the company of Gypsies to that of his fellow peasants. With the wild Romany bands, he drank, and danced and took part in orgies.

But Rasputin was said to possess a wondrous gift. He was a healer. Whether he was actually a healer or if he did his healing using the power of mesmerism (hypnosis) isn't clear, but he was known as a healer. When not cavorting with his Gypsy friends, he sought the company of learned monks and discussed with them the pros and cons of religion and debated with them about the twisted faith he called his own.

He was called "The Mad Monk." If he was a monk, it was in a religion that most sane men would not espouse. And mad he may well have been, but it was a sly madness, one that won him the friendship, even the love, of the Empress Alexandra and made him one of the most powerful and feared men in Russia.

The Empress's son, young Alexei, suffered from hemophilia. In other words, he was a bleeder, and even the slightest cut or bruise could lead to his death. Rasputin is reputed to have healed the boy, and it is thus that he gained the trust of the Empress and the admiration of a large number of the Russian people.

However, when the Tsar was called away to lead his troops into battle during World War 1, Rasputin began to exert his influence upon the Empress. He replaced several of the ministers of the court with his own followers. Instead of the love and admiration he had enjoyed before, now many of the people, especially the nobles, began to hate and fear him. They credited him with mystical powers that he was using to control the Empress and perhaps even the Tsar. They decided he would have to be killed.

It was then that Rasputin issued his great prophecy. "I am to be killed, "he said. "If I am killed," he told the Tsar and his court, "by my own people, by the peasants, then you will continue to rule in peace and harmony. However, if I am killed by the noble class, then within two years, you and your children and all the royal family will be no more."

Tom Baker

TomBaker is particularly remembered as one of the many "Dr. Who" played Rasputin in 1970's "Nicolas and Alexandra."

Dr Who

In 1974, Baker took on the role of the Doctor from Jon Pertwee. He was cast largely because of his performance in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Baker was working on a construction site at the time, as acting jobs were scarce. Initially he was dubbed "Boiler Suit Tom" by the media, as he had been supplied for a press conference with some old studio set clothes to replace his modest garments.

He quickly made the part his own. As the Doctor, his eccentric style of dress and speech — particularly his trademark long scarf and fondness for jelly babies — made him an immediately recognisable figure, and he quickly caught the viewing public's imagination. His decision to move on in 1981 was regretted by many of the programme's fans, and his incarnation is generally regarded as the most popular of the Doctors. Baker played the Doctor for seven consecutive seasons over a seven-year period, making him the longest-serving actor in the part on-screen. Baker himself suggested many aspects of the fourth Doctor's personality; it was he who suggested that he wear the Doctor's distinctive scarf, despite the fact that the woman who had knitted it misunderstood her instructions and used all of the wool provided, resulting in a ridiculously overlong scarf. Baker is also fond of Doctor-like jokes. When asked how he felt about having a star named after him, Baker quipped, "I'm over the moon!"

Antique Toulouse-Lautrec posters of French chanteur Aristide Bruant inspired a costume of long multi-coloured scarf and wide-brimmed hat and this Bohemian feel extended to Baker's characterisation, typified by wide-eyed grinning with occasional mood swings into melancholia. Allied to a strong BBC1 Saturday schedule he boosted ratings to a regular 11 million.

The man in the red scarf

The singer-comedian-entrepreneur Aristide Bruant was one of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's first friends in Montmarte. When Bruant opened his own club, Le Mirliton, Lautrec was one of its first regular patrons.

Bruant was famous for wittily insulting and degrading his audiences, to their great amusement. His customers were regularly greeted as "scoundrel," "prostitute," "sonofabitch," and "pig." They were warned. The sign at the door read: "For people who like to be told off."

Lautrec was the only patron consistently treated with respect. When Lautrec entered, Bruant would silence the house and proclaim, "Here comes the great painter Toulouse-Lautrec with one of his friends ... and a punk I don't know."

When Bruant performed at the club les Ambassadeurs, he asked Lautrec to paint an imposing portrait of him for the poster. At Bruant's insistence, "Ambassadeurs: Aristide Bruant" was posted all over the cabaret, and all over the streets of Paris, drawing considerable attention not just to Bruant but also to the young painter who had so accurately and strikingly portrayed him. It remains one of Lautrec's most famous paintings.

Lautrec would do much more work for Bruant, creating the paintings "Aristide Bruant" and "El Dorado" and illustrating books of Bruant's original music.

Apparently Aristide Bruant died and a couple of years later reincarnated as George C. Scott. George C. Scott is particularly remembered for portraying General Patton.

Scott's portrayal of the swaggering and controversial General Patton has become, to many, his most iconic performance. Scott had researched extensively for the role, studying films of the general and talking to those who knew him. Having declined an Academy Award nomination for his appearance in the 1961 film, The Hustler, Scott returned his Oscar for Patton, stating that he didn't feel himself to be in competition with other actors.

The subtle connections within the Matrix can be readily detected. Although life is all fundamentally an illusion there is a lot of misdirected energy flying around resulting from all of our pastlife connections and interactions. These energies cause blockages, not only to our psychic insight, but to our physical bodies, mental processes and emotions. These subtle energies affect us on a daily basis.
